The boys and I enjoyed opening day at the fair. We had a tough start getting there. Daniel was having lots of lows and I had to keep stopping at 7eleven, AmPm, Texaco, Taco Bell, and try to find parking. Thank goodness I got off the freeway and took the streets to the fair.
Finally, after talking to Children's Hospital we decided to make him a low profile for the day and run his insulin at 60% for the day. I didn't care how much money I had spent. I didn't even count it. When your child is in danger, you don't pay attention you just do what you have to do to save their life. His Bg was staying between 50-60 for over 3 hrs. It was unsafe to turn around and go home in traffic. We were in Costa Mesa over 1.5 hrs away in no traffic. Once we got his profile changed we made the best of the day and the safest place for him was at the fair and UC Irvine Medical Center was right down the street.
Landon loved all the animals. It was so clean compared to any fair we had been to.
He said this one looks like Bah Bah black Sheep just not black lol
He walks like a big boy now and hates his stroller. He loved the reptiles. Especially the snakes.
He thought the snake was soft and he said he wants one. Mommy is not so sure about that request. One thing at a time Landon.
Next Landon and I decided to go inside the butterfly exhibit.
His face! They were all over my hair and the back of my hair. I had no idea. My backpack was covered. When we were leaving they stopped me to remove all the butterflies from my hair, clothes, and backpack. I couldn't feel them. This was the best experience for Landon. He loved catching them.
We didn't stay too long after this. We had a foot long corn dog meal and walked the exhibits. Watched the fireworks and headed home. My phone died so I wasn't able to take more pictures. We are going back so the boys can see the rest.
They did try bee honey sticks in different flavors. They weren't very fond of them. They played carnival games, but we avoided rides due to Daniel's blood sugar. It was fun for the first trip.
