Football stays in the Winning!

Where do I begin... I took a break from posting. I needed some personal time to just focus on us, my boys, the new school schedule, and just get myself together for the new school season. When I've got so much going on sometimes you just need a break. So, to my followers, I apologize for the lengthy delay in my posts.

Daniel has now began Jr. High and is having an amazing time. The freedom his insulin pump has given him makes his days more convenient. However, adjustments are often being made. He takes his missed bolus before football, but it still cause his bg to run high. Then he will run low. With adjustments, he's now on the reverse end and running low bg more often than usual. Bg39-50 more often than we like. Not a good scenario for our son either way. Too high or too low. He has never been the child with perfect numbers for longer than three days. His body seems to like to sit at bg200.

With that, he's doing great in Jr. high. Grades are up, he loves it, studies late, football practice gets out at 8:30pm... That isn't the choice I prefer, but as long as he's not suffering in school I can deal with it.

These boys work hard at practices. I'm proud to see their dedication. They deserve all the recognition they get.
Upland Chargers are an awesome team.

Yesterday we played LaVerne/SanDimas Trojans. The two cities combined and it was a tough game for the boys. Usually the boys blow out their opponents. The last 4 games were Upland on the board and they've only given up one touchdown thus far this season.

Yesterday was a tough game. The first half Upland just couldn't catch the passes in the end zone or rush for enough yards. The first half ended at 0-6 Upland down. Daniel bg316, he was crying, coach was yelling he missed the catch for the touchdown, he got his insulin, refocused and came back like Troy Polamalu in the second half. The crowd was cheering. Everyone was yelling! He was amazing. He caused fumbles, caused incomplete passes, stopped runs. #32 was on Fire!

He was having an amazing second half! Coaches were so proud. Parents were screaming. I'm always proud, but this was his moment to be proud of himself. He said he could hear the crowd screaming. How exciting!

Hubby and I enjoying the game. The stands were full. We found seats towards the bottom so little Landon could play. The weather wasn't too warm in the shade and thank GOD it was a 5pm game. Watching Daniel play is the greatest part of my weekend. It brings me so much joy. He is truly an awesome player. He's athletic and he perseveres in everything he sets his mind too. Type 1 diabetes is just an obstacle.

At the end of the game he was crying and so emotional. Everyone wanted a picture with him. His coaches kept saying good game. His teammates, their parents, strangers, all said #32 your a beast! He was so emotional he ran over to stepdad and wanted a hug.

It doesn't take much to be a great parent. It just takes time and love. Daniel is blessed to have someone step up to be a dad when he needs it most. They share guy moments I as a female don't understand, but I appreciate my hubby for being there. Daniel trust him and I won't question that bond. He's becoming a teenager.

Upland won last night 7-6 and remain undefeated. Go Chargers! BOOM!
