My new alarm schedule is set on my iPhone. I have to say I am going to be a little sleep deprived for awhile. We are trying to get his basal rate. This is in addition to his usual breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Up every 3 hrs all night long. More data that needs to continue to be recorded and more checks for this Mama to continue to do. Thank goodness I have the sweetest husband in the world who is willing to take on a few of these checks so we can equally function the next day. He has to work and I have to raise a very active two year old. Plus, there are those many moments I have to be ready for Daniel and run to the school for something.
The newest part of this journey. A new schedule and the part that scares me the most at the moment. Sleep deprevation is just very difficult. I get horrible migraines and I just feel exhausted. But, I know I have to do it and I can do it. God gave me this duty. With his duty, he also gave me the strength.
We are starting this journey during the last week of Lent this year 2015. It will be hard to forget. A large change in our lives, in our spirits, in our home. God has really worked in our life these past 40 days. He is my strength through my long nights ahead. My stress, my tears, my joys ahead are all worth the quality of life for my precious little boy. I will not worry about how I'm going to do it because I know I can.
Here are some pictures of Daniel in his full Ice Hockey gear from practice last night. He looks so big skating by me on the ice. BG was running really high unfortunately. But, just like football, it must have to do with adrenaline and concentration. I'm so proud of him for not letting his diabetes come in the way of trying to be an athlete.
Here's to our long first night! Lots of coffee on hand for tomorrow morning.
