Daniel 5/20/15

Daniel is such an awesome kid! He surprises me with his ability to keep pushing forward in school and earning awards, entering enrichment programs, all awhile working so hard to keep up with his school work, diabetes management, and just being a kid. God picked an awesome kid with great time management skills. He still manages to loose things everyday, but who doesn't. 

Today he earned the gold medal award for being one of the top readers in 6th grade for reading the most books in his school. Go Daniel! 

I am so proud of all you accomplish and I love that you love to read. This is a great gift you've given yourself. Reading opens so many doors. 

Daniel also applied on his own for the AVID program at Upland Jr. High and Interviewed for it. We just received the letter that he was accepted into the program. Congratulations son! Wow! You are headed into the right direction all on your own. Honor Roll, Gate Newspaper Writer, Top reader in school, and now Avid program. You are ready for college and on the right path. You make us all very proud of you! 

He also finished his data collection this past weekend for his science fair project on what carbs does to his body? And after testing all of our blood sugars along with his and observing our eating patterns he has in data to finish his project and explain why carbs are so important to a Type 1 Diabetic. I can't wait to see what his finished project will be. He's so smart. 

He decided to return to trying his pump again last night. It was a low running night. Opposite of the last time we were wearing it. It's always something with diabetes. It's either up or down. He's one brave boy. I support his decision more and more. He's going through puberty and becoming more mature. It's his body. He's knows it better than anyone does. Praying for a better outcome this time around.
